block off (third-person singular simple present blocks off, present participle blocking off, simple past and past participle blocked off)

  1. (transitive) To obstruct.
    The lorry is blocking off the road, so traffic has come to a standstill.
  2. To book, set aside (an unbroken period of time to do an activity).
    I'll need to block off a couple of weeks to refurnish my house.
